Chef Matthew BeilsteinOriginally from Ohio, Executive Sushi Chef Matthew Beilstein was lured into the culinary world when his passion for this industry and for food was recognized at an early age. He began his journey at the age of 15, working as utility personnel at a fine dining restaurant in North Central Ohio. Matthew went on to study the culinary arts at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, where he graduated first in his class, obtaining both Salutatorian status as well as their Master Achievement award.Shortly after graduation, he served 6 years in the US Army Reserves, while continuing to hone his culinary knowledge. His career brought him to the Tampa Bay area where he developed unique sushi delicacies for the menus at exclusive restaurants such as Jackson’s Bistro, The Rack, the Hard Rock Hotel of Tampa, Hawks Neighborhood Grill and his own catering venture, Go Sushi, the first of its kind in West Central Florida. Over the years, Matthew served as an influential leader in the sushi revolution in Tampa. His style and depth of knowledge finally brought him to Buddha Lounge, where he is thrilled to be set free to set up his own menu for a full time operation. His culinary philosophy and passion reflect the growing trend towards a healthier lifestyle and the use of only quality ingredients. Matthew has been named the Best Sushi Chef in the Bay by a number of publications in Tampa and holds the dubious distinction of being Florida’s tallest sushi chef. |
